We are currently looking for a motivated IT Systems Engineer to join our Technical Services Team. An IT Systems Engineer at Roeing helps plan, support and troubleshoot our client’s environments through Professional Services, Managed IT Services, and servicing tickets through an IT Helpdesk. An IT Engineer also works closely with their Technical Services Team to both provide and receive support from other Systems Engineers, maintain documentation and learn custom client solutions to provide top-level customer service.

Primary Technical Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in the implementation, and support of customer Technology needs
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of our corporate and customer data
  • Remote and on-premises support for client and technical staff of: Servers, Desktops, Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Wireless APs, Backups, Critical Power, Environmental Monitoring, and others
  • Help implement and support cloud solutions – Azure, Datto, VMware Cloud Office 365
  • Server and Desktop hardware troubleshooting skills
  • Server, Active Directory, Domain, and Application support and troubleshooting
  • Monitoring and alerting of network and server environment security, uptime and performance
  • On-call rotation participation for emergency client outages
  • Intensive, detailed, and accurate documentation and timekeeping

Expected Technical Specialization:

  • Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot Microsoft server platforms (2003 through 2019), desktop platforms (Windows 10, some Mac) and    Active Directory. 
  • GPO management and Scripting experience a plus
  • Understanding and/or Experience with VMWare and Hyper-V Server Platforms
  • Ability to understand, support and troubleshoot Network Infrastructure: Switches, VLANs, routing
  • Some experience supporting backups with Veeam and Datto Platforms
  • Some experience with SOPHOS, Fortinet or other Firewall UTMs

Consulting Assistance Responsibilities:

  • Support and Troubleshooting of customer Technology platforms
  • Assist in evaluating client needs and determining the appropriate technology solution
  • Assist with preparing customer Engagement Proposals when required
  • Assist in presenting solutions to prospective customers
  • Assist in each stage of the sales process with the sales team
  • Training both technical and non-technical users on how to apply best practices

Education:

  • Associates degree in a related field and/or a minimum of two years relevant experience in the Information Technology field.

Additional Duties:

  • Limited, rotational evening and weekend work based on client activities.
  • Occasional onsite travel to client’s locations within a 75-mile radius
  • Maintain normal working office hours of 8:00 am to  5:00 pm
